About Us
Founded in 2014 by Keystone College professor Dr. Steven R. Howell and Keystone College alumnus Andrew Intartaglio, Howell Design and Consulting Inc. is a Northeast Pennsylvania company based in Factoryville, PA. HDC employs primarily Keystone College students and alumni in the development, sales, and marketing of simple, innovative consumer products. These patented products include the GarbageGap garbage can spacer, the FurnitureFender furniture spacer, and our original patented Jeep Truck Bed.
Our Divisions
Howell Design and Consulting Inc. has had four divisions/product lines, listed below. At present only the Consumer Products division is active, with several products available for sale on Amazon.com. All of our products are designed and manufactured the the USA.
Jeep Truck Parts
HDC formerly had a brand at JeepTruckParts.com, which designed aftermarket parts for Jeep Wrangler Vehicles, including our patented JeepTruckBed insert.
At present we are soliciting patent licensing inquiries from existing auto parts manufacturers to assume manufacturing of our Jeep Truck Bed in their own product lines.
Waveform Pendants
One of our original brands was WaveformPendants.com, which designed and manufactured custom 3D art and jewelry based on soundwave shapes derived from people’s voices.
Due to manufacturing complexities, our waveform products are now suspended. Contact us for one-off art pieces in varies sizes, by commission only.
Consumer Products
Our Consumer Products Division, designs convenient everyday consumer items which make life easier, including GarbageGap, a Patented device to prevent flip-top trash can lids from striking and damaging the wall.
Consulting Division
Our Consulting Division, which includes psychological testing services, e-commerce consulting, product development consulting, and Artificial Intelligence consulting for organizations. We can help develop an interactive customer service chatbot for your organization using industry-leading IBM Watson Assistant Technology.

Meet Us
Dr. Steve R. Howell
President and Director of Product Development
Dr. Howell is also an Associate Professor of Psychology and Computer Science/Artificial intelligence at Keystone College in LaPlume, PA. Dr. Howell has been teaching and researching in the areas of computational models of linguistics, personality development, and political psychology since 2003. Dr. Howell has a background in Systems Engineering, Software Development, and Industrial Design, which serves him well as the driving force behind the development and patenting of HDC’s products.
Andrew Intartaglio
Former Web Development Manager and VP Operations
Mr. Intartaglio is a Keystone College graduate (B.S. Information Technology) and a co-founder of HDC. He handled web development management, e-commerce marketing, and Amazon.com sales channels for HDC and for our Consulting Division clients. Mr. Intartaglio has since moved on from HDC into computer consulting.
